Tech savvy people are getting hooked on producing Dubstep music. Dubstep lets you create your own electronic dance music, without the help of any experts. You might, however, need some software to get on with your musical ideas. We did our research and came up with these programs that have helped aficionados compose their own tracks that define their personality and appreciation of music.
With passion, inspiration, and bits of creativity, producing dubstep through these programs will surely bloom.
1. CUBASE PRO 8
This program is available for Mac and Windows, and for more than 25 years it has continued to evolve into perfection. This company has been in the industry since the 80’s – the pioneer and one of the highly rated producers of electronic music today. Cubase surged its hype when the popular artist Skrillex dominated the iTunes charts. Using this program is quite a breeze, because there are lots of online resources and tutorials on how to use it.
The program has several features that let you tweak its VCA faders when mixing complex tracks, instrumental and audio tools, sound effects plugins and virtual amps and instruments. This baby is fast and efficient in producing dubstep music.
2. ABLETON LIVE
The newest version is available for Mac and Windows. This program is constantly updated by the software developer. Still, unfortunately, some users are having a hard time using it. The good thing about this dubstep program is it doesn’t need plugins to make it work. It has a live time-stretching feature, multiple tracks recording at up to 32-bit/192 kHz, sequencing and arrangement capabilities. You can get creative using its sound effects and the many types of instruments it can render. Also, the program is compatible with controllers and musical instruments.
This program is great for exploring the ropes of producing dubstep music. Image-Line updated most of the program’s plugins and also added a couple more. FL Studio 12.3 also comes with some new features, like Real-time Audio Stretchin, Type in values to the Tempo and Mix track selectors, MIDI channel through and many more. Unfortunately, this software is only available for Windows, but FL Studio constantly upgrades their software, so maybe a Mac version will be available soon.
4. REASON 9
This is one of the best programs out there. However, some don’t like to use it, because it requires lots of plugins and it needs to download a sound database to help create dubstep music. But there are music producers who use Reason for the final retouch of their compositions, before releasing it. The program is easy to use, it has a boatload of effects and musical instruments and it has a studio-grade console that is perfect for tweaking tracks.
Massive is not that comprehensive compared to other programs that we mentioned above. However, this software is newbie friendly, a quick starter for a dubstep artist. It has plenty of synth options, tons of effects and musical instruments to play with. Plus, you can rewire this program to Reason, to give the epic final touch to your music.
